Hiroyuki

Hiroyuki is the noble and fearless leader of the three wolfdogs of our North Star Wolfpack. He was born on the 27th of September 2021 and is the middle aged wolfdog in our pack. Hiroyuki‘s name is an old Japanese bushi (samurai) class name. It is written with the kanji (characters) 博雪. The first kanji 博 which is pronounced as „hiro“ in this case, can be translated as winning. Yuki 雪, the second character of his name means snow. Together the kanji of his name can be translated as winning/victorious snow.

The name is very fitting for him, as snowy landscapes are his favorite environment. He loves to prowl through deep snow and prefers to be outside as much as possible. The colder, the better.

This is no surprise as Hiroyuki is a Nordic Wolfdog, a term which describes wolfdogs where the nordic dog races like for example Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute or Alaskan Husky are more dominant than the wolf percentage of their heritage. Hiroyuki is according to his Embark DNA test 72.0% Siberian Husky, 18.8% Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, and 9.2% Greywolf. This makes him a so called low-content wolfdog with about 14% pure wolf in him.

Despite his strong appearance, Hiroyuki has a very kind and loving heart. He wants to meet and play with every dog, no matter how big or small they are. With big dogs he plays roughly, but when playing with small dogs, he is very careful not to step on them or to hurt them. He sometimes even rolls on the back to let them jump on him so that the small ones can enjoy the play as well.

Hiroyuki is, typical for low-content wolfdogs like him (if properly socialized), very open and friendly towards humans and other dogs. His personality is more on the dog side of his ancestry which makes him a perfect companion. However, he also inherited the strong independence drive and fearless personality of both, husky and wolf. So one word to describe him perfectly would be stubborn.

He is always in for a long and fast run and has seemingly limitless energy for the countless adventures we experience with our pack.
